Mike: “Bob, with respect I would say this is the most useless use of your talent and my money. I cannot conceive of any circumstance that would compel me to spend money on this and I will be cancelling my long time subscription to your email. You have lost your way.”

What these well-intentioned readers must have assumed is that I live and breathe technology.  Perhaps because they are familiar only with my advice on topics such as Internet security, privacy, and artificial intelligence, they feel that I have no business dabbling in humor, or other areas unrelated to computers.

Of course, I see it differently.  Thomas Edison didn't stop after inventing the light bulb.  He created completely unrelated things like the electric pen, mining equipment, and wax paper. Brian May, famed guitarist for Queen, has a PhD in astrophysics. C.S. Lewis, known for his masterful books on faith and theology, also penned "The Chronicles of Narnia" and the science fiction "Space Trilogy".

And there's an arc to my work as well. Creative people tend to have a variety of interests.  I've run a retail and online florist business for 27 years.  My wife and I operate an AirBnb rental cottage.  I also have a real estate license.  

But at my core, I am a writer.  Words are my toys. After spending years exploring and learning about the Internet, I wrote books on Internet Privacy, and Backups. I became fascinated with AI, so I wrote 50 Shades of AI.
